Who are we?
The MWGCOA is a Professional Association utilizing education and networking
for better management of the business of the game of golf.
What is our goal?
Golf course owners need to network to meet their common educational and
informational needs. The focus of member recruiting should point to MWGCOA
as an effective organization helping members in the business of golf.
Belonging to a professional industry organization concentrates and focuses our
influence in legislative and regulatory matters.
How do we hope to reach these goals?
The association and its members need to:
(1) be perceived as offering
assistance and insight to new course developers and others in industry;
(2) become a clearing house for factual information;
(3) have more community involvement;
(4) provide information for more positive public relations (information on
charity involvement, kids and seniors programs). |
How do we serve our members?
We believe free enterprise should supply goods and
services deemed necessary by analysis of true market forces. In cases
where development of public golf is warranted, we believe private capital should
supply these services unhindered by
governmental competition.
The Association should provide assistance and solutions to members of common
problems, and act as spokesman for industry positions. Industry solidarity
gives our members a stronger voice in all affairs that affect their businesses.
Common efforts will be more effective in strengthening the future of golf
through player development. By joining together, our member courses can
help to provide positive (and avoid negative) public relations about our
businesses.
The Association should provide information and education about business transfer
and continuity. Through education and networking we try to insure the
continued viability of our businesses so that they will pass intact to future
generations.
What is our future plan?
The Association needs to continue having strong annual and regional
conferences. The majority of our effort as an Association should be
directed at increasing member benefit, membership, and determining member needs.
The Association needs to be a leader in preserving and protecting a
business environment that will help assure continued prosperity for member
courses.
